We were extremely disappointed with this stay. Only after booking with no cancellation option did the property advise there was construction “next door”. However, this is not true. The actual hotel is still under construction & we arrived to the sound of jack hammering & angle grinding. It’s all around the pool & recreation area and we even woke up to it on the Sunday morning! The reviews on Booking.com appear to be for the former hotel. This lack of transparency feels dishonest. When we raised the issue, staff admitted that the construction has been going on for quite some time already and will likely continue for the foreseeable future. Another major problem was the misleading photos. The hotel advertised rooms with sea views, but our actual view was of a roof and a tree. Only by walking to the side of the room could we catch a glimpse of the ocean, which is far from what was promised. Also the patio is shared with all the rooms on that floor with a short nib wall & a small pot plant to divide. We were highly disappointed as we were expecting a few relaxing days at the resort but had to arrange a day trip off the island as we couldn’t relax with construction workers & noise all around. The price charged is not for a hotel still under construction & to not be clearly notified of this and given the opportunity to change is dishonest & unfair. Another thing to consider is that this is not really a swimming beach - it only gets about knee deep. Don’t stay here…we checked and visited - there are far nicer hotels for similar prices down the road that have no construction.
